St Aidan's Memorials

Charles and Esther raised their family to be devout Christians. They were all tireless workers for St Aidan's Church of England at Booth St, Annandale. There are several beautiful memorials to the Gooud family at St Aidan's, the most beautiful being two stained glass windows near the altar.

The Light of the World – in Loving Memory of Esther Gooud, d. 11th Dec, 1926.

The Lord is My Shepherd – in Loving Memory of Charles John Gooud died July 20th 1933

Between these two windows is a marble plaque:

To the Glory of God and in Loving Memory of Edith L Gooud, Organist, Choir Mistress & Loyal Church Worker for over 40 years died August 1944. Also Eva M Gooud, Choir Member, devoted Church worker and District visitor died 30th June 1945 –Well done thou good and faithful servant

A book case in the foyer of the church is in memory of R Montague Gooud and his wife Lorna Amy.

A brass handrail leading to the altar is in memory of Lorna Esther Gooud – daughter of Monty and Lorna Gooud. (Monty was Church Warden for some years)
