George was a plumbing contractor and lived at Annandale from 1898-03, then at Parramatta Rd (now Victoria Rd) West Ryde, from about 1910 - 1920. He later moved to Auburn where he died in 1934.
George and Lillian had one son, George, born in 1906.
Lillian worked as housekeeper for a Church of England minister at Punchbowl until she died in 1951.

Family of George and Lillian Best
George, married Mina Buchanan in 1930 and they had two children, Dorothea and George. They lived at Bundeena, NSW, but separated by 1940.
George used to play the organ. He played at the Civic Theatre, Auburn, with Knight Barnett
Mina died 1995.
- Dorothea Learnt piano and organ, at Sydney Conservatorium. Played as accompanist and dance musician and taught privately. Dorothea married Harry Dirks in 1954. They lived at Bundeena NSW. In 1991 they built a new house at Hebersham, however six months later Harry died and Dorothea moved back to Bundeena.
Dorothea and Harry had six children.
- George (later changed name to Graham Robert Eric, then Robert Wiseman). He is married to Lynette Edgerton and has four children.
