The Family of Jane and Andrew Best of Durweston, Dorset
Andrew was born in 1831 at Durweston. He was an AgLab and married Jane
Adams (daughter of George Adams) in 1862 at Durweston. They lived at
Durweston and they had four children. Andrew died at age 50. Jane lived
at Norton in Durweston in 1881 and is probably the Jane Best referred to
in the 1895 story "The Durweston Poltergeist
"
Andrew and Jane had four children:
- William born 1865
- Joseph born 1868
- Ann / Annie born 1871. Ann married James Horlock, carter,
of Stourpaine (son of Charles Horlock), at Durweston in 1894
- Julia born 1875, died 1876
