She married William Alpheus Voss in 1937 at St Andrew's Cathedral, Honolulu. William had a BS from Westmar College, Iowa, where he was President of his class; he attended Seminary; joined the Army and served in Hawaii in the Engineers. He played football and taught at Iolani School. In California he worked as a piping design engineer in oil refineries. He swam in the Senior Olympics in California, winning four gold medals.There were three children.
Bill Voss died in 1985 and his ashes were scattered from plane off the Californian coast where he had won his gold medals. Pat died in Dec 1995 at Fullerton CA and her ashes were scattered in the sea at Kailua HI by her grandson, Jimmy Smart and his mother, Jackie.
A son, Fred, is a poet who has had several books published and his poetry broadcast by the BBC. He tells his family story in Moments from a Family History
