Valentine Best Blomfield was born at Hamakua, Hawaii. HI. He trained as an Auditor and worked for 20+ years with Kahuku (Sugar) Plantation as Accountant, Office Manager, and Director of Industrial Relations. In 1942 he married Emma Leinaala Macy, BA, MA (University of Hawaii), a retired primary school teacher and they have four children.
Valentine died at Kahuku, Oahu 14 April 1964 and Emma died 26 November 1993. They are buried at the National Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl, Honolulu.
