BLACK FRIDAY STARTS CHAIN OF ACCIDENTS
.... Then on Saturday night two youths were killed when their car left the
road about 7 miles south of Bunbury on the Bussell highway.
Killed
Killed were Russell Leonard Widdeson (17) of Bussell highway, Capel, and John Maslin (17) of Buchanan road, Capel.
Injured in the crash was Roden John Donovan (19), of Capel, who has been discharged from hospital.
Widdeson was the driver of the car which left the road about 7.45 pm
The car left the road on its way to Capel and careered through heavy bush
for about 50 yds before finishing on its side - and facing Bunbury.

The impact threw Donovan clear.
The car was almost torn in two from behind the driver's seat. Wreckage was strewn for about 30 yds. |
